Got Milk?

Check out this awesome video portrait of Zachary Quinto!  The photographer, Tyler Shields thought it would be a good idea to drench Star Trek's latest Spock in milk.  The end result is kind of cool and of course, pretty artsy.  Though, the droplets collecting at his nose at the beginning of the film are a little distracting and oddly entertaining... The Review: Rangoli Vancouver

This is the first of many more reviews to come, all about the best and worst restaurants, stores and random places we encounter in the world around us.  To kick things off is the delectable Rangoli, located on Vancouver's South Granville Street (@ West 11th Ave).

The restaurant is a more casual option to the adjacent Vij's, run by the same owners.  The Indian cuisine is authentic, but given a unique twist, being lighter than traditional dishes, without sacrificing the rich flavor and spices.  Favorites on the menu included: the mango pineapple lassi, pakoras and rice pudding. 

Rangoli is a must-try for all Vancouverites and visiting foodies!

WhatTheFashion: Bimbos

Here we have Heidi and Spence on the set of their pizza hut commercial. These two are the biggest attention whores and I think it is quite funny. They might be cheesy and we might roll our eyes whenever we see or hear about them but we are still reading. Nothing says interesting like a bleach out, breast enhanced, reality TV star and her grumpy little boyfriend.

Lady GaGa now this is too cheap hooker even for you. I LOVE the short hair but the weird hand gesture in front is just not going to cut it. I get it you don’t wear pants. I don’t wear pants but I don’t walk around in dance wear and leather with my butt hanging out. Also your jacket I saw at the thrift store last week. It was ugly back in the day and its dang ugly now.

I can’t think of any way to make this outfit better. Look what I have to work with! I am slightly afraid for what she is going to do next. Thong work out suit?

TGIF: Sip on This!

Lime Margaritas

Ingredients

1 small can frozen limeade
1 can Tequila use the limeade can to measure - don't hold back
1/3 can Triple Sec

The Mix

Put limeade, tequila and triple sec into blender.

Add ice to blender and blend to crush. Add more ice until the consistency of a slushy. If margarita is too stiff (too much ice), add a touch of water and blend again.

Pour into salt rimmed glass and serve

Fashion Forward: The Planets Too, Have Aligned for H&M

The H&M men's fall 09 collection is even quite impressive.  Can't wait to see it all in stores!  There are some visible nfluences from Burberry, Versace, Zegna and Michael Bastian, but nothing is copied like many other lower priced fashion chains.  H&M wins a gold star this year!  Excellent job.

Sisterhood Of The Traveling Supermodels

Word on the street is that former Gilmore Girl, Alexis Bledel has signed with IMG.  The model agency that represents Gisele, Daria and Kate will now be handling Bledel's commercial endorsements.  With a face and body like that, there are sure to be some great campaigns in the near future!  It's an impressive progression from the traveling pants.

Add To Cart: White Hot Denim

Nothing says urban summer style more than a pair of white jeans. If you haven't picked out a pair for this summer or you're looking to update last year's tired pair, you may want to consider one of these:

If you saw our denim trend report, you'll know that the distressed look is back in full force. White jeans are no exception. For the girls, there are some great, distressed styles from J. Crew and Guess (shown below). However, if you're looking for a more crisp look, you may want to consider a bootcut fit or a cropped ankle capri-like style. These styles look great with a wedge or platform heel.

The guys have a variety of options too. For an updated classic look you might consider a pair of Rugby or J. Crew vintage wash jeans. Crotch vs Pants: Who Will Win!

Oh wow! Do I even need to explain why Jennifer Hudson’s pants are a whole world of no? I think you are all smart enough to know that these pants are atrocious. The shirt too is just making her look horrible and square. Jennifer is a beautiful woman and I was horrified that she went out in this. Oh my goodness this is just bad.

Monday morning has got me seeing double. What is going on here Eva Mendez and Michelle Monaghan. The fact that your outfits are exactly the same thoroughly amuses me especially since not only the dress is the same but the shoes are too! Somebody’s stylist messed up big time.

This dress on both of these ladies is ugly. It looks like a crushed velvet children’s dress which has been cheese grated for that special effect. Also the bottom hem just looks like the designer got to the end of the roll of fabric and was like yep this is where we end it .

The shoes are hot but come on! The exact same as each other! Don’t think us fashion people wont notice these things! Never underestimate our skills.

The Captain In GQ

Chris Pine aka Captain James T. Kirk in the latest installment of Star Trek is modeling summer suits in the June issue of GQ.  Pine talks about the Star Trek following and how it's affected him and also about his past work, while GQ tells you how to pull of a light colored suit in summer.  The khaki look at top left is a definite classic summer look with a timeless appeal.  It's a great spread and appropriate celebrity pick!  The captain is even rocking a more fashion model like pose in the top right photo.  Unfortunately, the cover is still no where to be found, but, for more men's summer style tips and to read more of the interview, click here.

TGIF: Sip On This!

Watermelon Martini

Ingredients

4 ounces of Smirnoff vodka.
1 ounce of Midori melon liqueur.
2 ounces of crushed watermelon unstrained.
2 very thin watermelon slices.

The mix

Fill a glass martini shaker about 3/4 full of cracked, clean ice.
Pour your vodka into the shaker and let stand for sixty seconds.
Add your midori and crushed watermelon .
Shake, shake, shake.
Strain into your martini glasses.
Decorate each glass with a watermelon slice.

Spin It: Fire Burning (On The Dancefloor)

If you're in need of a new dance jam, then listen to this!  The festively plump 19 year old Jamaican-American released this title called "Fire Burning (On The Dancefloor)" just in time for summer.  It's got a catchy beat that just makes you want to get up and dance!  Hope to hear this one in the clubs asap!

Joe Jonas Gets Wet In Style

Looks like InStyle is going for a younger demographic!  They're including a feature on Joe Jonas in next month's June 09 issue.  The photoshoot seems to have gotten a little more Cosmo than InStyle with the middle Jonas brother soaked from head to toe.  Ahh, they grow up so fast... The teenage rockstar talks about fame and screaming fans, as well as, reveals his celebrity crush: Daniel Craig.  Interesting choice.  In any case, this issue will probably be in the hands of every teenage girl across America, keeping one more publication afloat in this grueling economic climate!

Ashley Olsen does VMan

VMan is publishing a summer issue this year!  The men's counterpart to the avant-garde V Magazine usually publishes biannually, so it'll be interesting to see what they've got up their sleeves for this issue.  What seems to be generating the most buzz about mag seems to be this spread (above) featuring Ashley Olsen!  She looks pretty edgy, baring down to her bra, but hardly recognizable with those dark brunette locks.  

In the article, the 22 year old billionaire opens up about her career, mentioning her interest in the world of fashion:

"The way I look at it, I had a career as a child. I had a career in an industry in which the media kind of...they're obsessed with the young girl thing. But when I turned 18, I moved to New York, and I haven't really done anything to be a celebrity. I've been transitioning from acting as a kid to doing something that I'm choosing for myself—to be a part of the fashion industry...the outside perception is very different because you do have celebrity brands, people like Jessica Simpson and Kimora Lee Simmons, and those are celebrity brands because they have their names on them."

Angels & Demons is out in theaters tomorrow!  Will you be going out to see The DaVinci Code prequel?  It looks like it's going to a pretty epic movie, so we'll see if it can top the $75.2 million Star Trek pulled during it's opening weekend last week.  Check out the trailer and other multimedia above!

The onesie seems to be all the rage. I am not going to lie I do own one and I have seen more than one celebrity rocking out in one but I am drawing the line.

Got to Find a Cure

H&M has teamed up with stars like Katy Perry, Dita Von Teese, Estelle, Cyndi Lauper, and more. Each star has collaborated with H&M on designs to spread the word about safe sex. The collection will hit H&M stores on May 28 and 25% of the sales of each item will be donated to youth HIV/AIDS awareness projects.

The second part of Matthew Williamson's capsule collection for H&M hits stores tomorrow!  Don't forget to check it out if you get the chance.  The colors and patterns are great for summer!  BUT NOTE: going head to toe in the stuff may run the risk of looking like you just walked off the set of Miami Vice.  Nonetheless, the collection is fun and different.  Before you endure the crowds of fashionistas, you can view the collection before you go, on H&M's website here.

I feel like I have been talking about and seeing jean shorts EVERYWHERE now that it is getting closer to summer and heck even in the winter. I figured I would point out some celebs rocking their cut offs.

Where have all the pant legs gone?

Jessica Jessica Jessica, I don’t care what size you are but girlfriend what is with this outfit. I am going straight to the shoes here because lady put away the wedges. Though they can be really cute (I guess) but they can also be really unflattering to legs. Plus I watched the video of you actually singing and you really can’t walk or dance in them.

Jean cut off short shorts seem to be Jessica’s thing anyways but they always seem so sloppy. Girls love them but I am not a fan. The vest and the shirt I don’t mind but it’s boring!! This look has been rocked by her over and over again and it has no spice or substance.

Jessica Simpson come on girl pull it together! Invest in some actual shorts, a dress, maybe a skirt!
